I've been interested in this thing we now call 'UX' all the way back to the Long, Long Ago Times of the early 90s.

My Dad, an engineer, had computers and modems lying around the house since I can remember, and kids like me were using all that cutting-edge technology for chatting and playing Door games on BBSes. The Internet was just being born, and of course having read Neuromancer and Snow Crash, I knew the sky was going to be the limit.

So I went off to school and learned about how to build websites, which to me was a perfect synthesis of everything I loved--art, design, innovation and problem-solving.

After working as a freelance web developer for a couple of years, I started working at EA in 2006. Making video games was my literal childhood dream, and it's amazing to be living it.

Games is a fascinating place to be working on UX. We get to mess around with all kinds of things you simply can't do in many other places. Whether it's solving one-of-a-kind problems like the usability of calling football plays, or experimenting with the UI of the future in virtual reality.

I've had a lot of thoughts over the years that I hope to share in blog format on this site. In the meantime, thanks for looking me up and feel free to drop me a line sometime, especially if you love to geek out over interaction design the way I do!
